One of our favorites on the farm! This tomato has a very dark and rich flesh with a very "meaty" flavor. Cutting it open shows an inside that is dark red to purple-pink. Great for sandwiches or eating raw; we enjoyed caprice with them! The outside turns pitch black once exposed to the sun for some time.
To determine when the tomato is ripened, check the bottom for a pink or red hue and give it a squeeze. If it feels softer its ready! Was considered best tasting tomato at the 2015 National Heirloom Exposition!
Indeterminate with plants able to get very tall if pruned and tended to.
